This process ensures that the association maintains its standards and community spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Application Submission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Request:<\/strong>\u00a0Any individual wishing to join must submit an application via the association\u2019s website or in writing to the Secretary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Verification:<\/strong>\u00a0The Secretary checks that the applicant has provided all required details (e.g., contact information, agreement to abide by the Statutes).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. The Board Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Agenda Inclusion:<\/strong>\u00a0The Secretary adds the \u201cNew Member Application\u201d to the agenda for the next Board Meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Discussion:<\/strong>\u00a0The Board reviews the application against the association\u2019s entry requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Decision Making (Voting)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When it comes time to vote on a new member, the Board uses a&nbsp;<strong>Simple Majority<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is a \u201cSimple Majority\u201d?<\/strong>&nbsp;Think of this as the \u201cmore than half\u201d rule. To approve a new member, you need more \u201cYes\u201d votes than \u201cNo\u201d votes among the board members who are present at the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Example:<\/em>\u00a0If 7 board members are present, you need at least 4 \u201cYes\u201d votes for the applicant to be accepted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Abstentions:<\/em>\u00a0These are people who choose not to vote \u201cYes\u201d or \u201cNo.\u201d These do not count toward the \u201cYes\u201d total, making it easier to reach the majority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Communication of Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Acceptance:<\/strong>\u00a0The Secretary notifies the applicant in writing (email) within 5 working days of the board meeting. The applicant is then sent the information regarding payment of the membership fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rejection:<\/strong>\u00a0If the application is rejected, the Board must provide a brief reason for the decision in writing to the applicant.
